General Practitioners in the UK provide a 24 hrs medical service. During weekends/night time when your own GP is not available the needs of the practice population is delegated to another doctor, a group of doctors or a private agency.

The out of hours needs of our practice is covered by 'North West Medical Duty Services' which is a well established Liverpool firm and employs well trained and experienced nurses and GPs.

If you should need any medical help during out of hours please ring our surgery number 0151 263 6534 and you will be advised on how to contact the out of hours services. From here you can ask for advice from a nurse or a Doctor, or you can arrange to see a doctor at a primary care centre, or request a home visit.

In case of emergency always ring 999

Home environment is not always the best place to conduct a consultation, examination or to arrange appropriate tests. It is therefore advisable to limit requests for home visits to those seriously ill house bound patients who cannot possibly attend surgery.

ARRANGING A HOME VISIT BY TELEPHONE OR IN PERSON

If you think a home visit is necessary please inform the surgery before 11.00am. This will give adequate time for the doctors to plan their visits. Naturally, it will be the doctors' decision over need and priorities, so it would be very helpful to let know the reason for the home visit. Please ensure you give the receptionist the exact address of the patient and a contact telephone number.

As a practice that is looking forward for ways improve its services we are always open to suggestions and comments from our patients, whatever you views.
