The history of this practice can be traced back to one Dr. Hugh Williams, who was a druggist and chemist from Anglesey, settled in Liverpool. He then qualified as a doctor in 1878. He started his practice in Downing street in Everton before moving to 139 Breckfield Road North in 1891. He was joined by his brother John Williams, who was also a druggist and chemist, before qualifying as a doctor in 1885. Dr .John Williams’s address in the medical register was 141 Breckfield road North, probably where he started his own practice before joining his brother Hugh.
The practice was later passed on to their nephew, Dr. Thomas Glynn Morris, then to his son Dr. Mansel Glynn Morris.
Dr. Tudur Glynn Thomas inherited the practice and moved to the current premises in 1970 along with his new partner Dr.Aslam Riaz. Dr Thomas retired in 1986, to be replaced by Dr. John Godfrey.
The practice, one of the oldest in Liverpool, has seen many changes, keeping pace with changing NHS.
In April 2009, the Liverpool PCT appointed a private company, 'CareUK' to support our practice.
The GPs and nurses from this firm run additional surgeries and clinics, to provide more access and improve quality.
